Residential & Commercial Painting in Albuquerque, NM

Andy's Painting Company is a licensed, bonded and insured painting contractor based at 2515 Princeton Dr. NE in Albuquerque. For over 20 years, our crews have painted interiors, exteriors, cabinets and stucco for Albuquerque homeowners and businesses.

For homeowners: We paint adobe, mid-century and newer stucco homes across the Albuquerque metro. Every job starts with a free on-site estimate. We look at the surface, measure the house and write you a number. We don't quote over the phone. See our residential painting services.

For businesses: We paint office buildings, apartment complexes, strip malls and office interiors. We plan the work around your tenants and customers so your doors stay open. See our commercial painting services, including commercial interior and commercial exterior painting.

Built for the High-Desert Climate

West and south walls take the worst of it here. High-desert UV chalks the finish first. Then monsoon splash works into every hairline crack in the stucco. After a few summers, you can see where the shaded side of a house ends and the sunny side starts.

Good Albuquerque painting is mostly prep. We pressure wash, scrape, caulk and prime bare spots, and we repair stucco cracks before any paint goes on. Darker colors fade faster on sun-facing walls, so we'll tell you on the walkthrough which walls will need the most care. If a wall needs patching, we'd rather tell you before we quote it than surprise you on day three.

Rear Patio Deck Repainted in Albuquerque

Exterior Painting

Rear Patio Deck Repainted in Albuquerque

Rear patio deck repaint in Albuquerque, with a color-matched tone applied to both walkable deck areas and steps using a crosshatch two-coat method. Paint was laid vertically first, then horizontally, so every board got solid, even coverage. This type of surface carries a 1-year workmanship warranty, which is standard for horizontal walkable decking.

Garage Interior Repainted One Clean Color

Interior Painting

Garage Interior Repainted One Clean Color

A one-stall garage in Albuquerque got a full spray-out — walls, ceiling, cabinets, and entry door all pulled into a single color and sheen. The ceiling was primed before paint to keep the finish even throughout. Paint was customer-supplied, so every product choice was theirs.

Pueblo Siding, Mulberry Silk Trim

Exterior Painting

Pueblo Siding, Mulberry Silk Trim

This roughly 1,000 sq ft Albuquerque home got new color from top to bottom — wood siding and the garage door in SW 7711 Pueblo, with soffits, fascia, vents, door frames, patio ceiling, and shed trim in SW 0001 Mulberry Silk. Paint was sprayed and backrolled using Sherwin-Williams Emerald Rain Refresh, which carries a 15-year warranty.

Front Door in Mown Grass

Exterior Painting

Front Door in Mown Grass

Porch and patio posts, beams, and supports got a fresh coat matched to existing trim, while the front door and frame went in Behr Mown Grass M370-7 with a gloss finish to make it stand out. Two window frames were painted as an add-on to tie the look together. Sherwin Williams Emerald Rain Refresh carries a 15-year warranty on the wood trim.

Purpleheart Stain Unifies the Gazebo

Exterior Painting

Purpleheart Stain Unifies the Gazebo

Posts, beams, corbels, and accent wood across three patio areas and a full gazebo were cleaned, sanded, and stained in DB 2310 Purpleheart using Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck semitransparent stain. A deeper color was recommended to get the most even coverage across wood of varying ages and exposures. The finished result ties all the outdoor structures together with one consistent tone.

Front Door in Rookwood Sash Green

Exterior Painting

Front Door in Rookwood Sash Green

The front door and wood gate got two coats of SW 2810 Rookwood Sash Green in a gloss finish, while the three exterior drywall ceilings were repainted in Pure White 7005 flat — with cracked tape seams repaired and retextured before paint went on. Work comes backed by a 5-year warranty.

Medici Ivory fills a three-stall garage

Interior Painting

Medici Ivory fills a three-stall garage

Drywall repairs, patched holes from old shelving, and retaped seams were taken care of before a coat of Medici Ivory SW 7558 went on every wall, ceiling, and door. Semigloss holds up well in a garage where surfaces take more abuse than a typical room. A clean, consistent finish throughout.

Dining and Kitchen Ceilings Restored

Interior Painting

Dining and Kitchen Ceilings Restored

Ceiling repair and repaint in Albuquerque, covering the dining area and kitchen corner to corner after roof leak damage. We cut out the damaged drywall, replaced it with new sheets, taped the seams, matched the existing texture as closely as possible, and primed before applying two coats of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint in a color-matched satin finish. The job carries a 3-year Silver Package warranty.

Why painting in Albuquerque is different

High-desert sun, dry air, and stucco change how a paint job should be done here. These four things shape how we prep and what we put on your walls.

Sun at altitude

Albuquerque sits above 5,000 feet, so walls take more UV than they would at sea level. South- and west-facing walls fade and chalk first, and dark colors go fastest. We use UV-resistant 100% acrylic coatings and tell you up front which walls will need attention sooner.

Stucco and elastomeric

Elastomeric coatings go on thick, and on walls they can trap moisture and peel. On stucco walls we patch cracks under 1/8 inch with an elastomeric patch, then apply a breathable 100% acrylic coating. Elastomeric goes only on flat parapet tops. We don’t caulk stucco cracks, because smooth caulk lines show through a textured finish.

Dry air and wood

Low humidity pulls the moisture out of exposed wood, so fascia, trim, and vigas crack and check. We scrape and prime bare wood before paint, and on stained wood we use penetrating, UV-resistant products. Wood that has rotted needs a carpenter first.

Older homes and lead

Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint under the newer coats. Federal rules set how that paint has to be handled when it gets scraped or sanded. See the EPA lead renovation rules, and ask us about it on your estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

All types. We paint adobe, mid-century and newer stucco homes, plus commercial interiors and exteriors. Adobe and older trim need careful scraping and caulking. Stucco usually needs crack repair. Both get a full pressure wash before painting.
It fades color faster and stains the lower walls. High-desert sun fades south- and west-facing walls first, and darker colors fade faster. Monsoon splash and dust stain fascia and lower stucco over time. We wash, scrape, prime bare spots and use coatings suited to this climate so the color lasts longer.
