Preparing for Andy

Interior
We ask that you remove any paintings or wall hangings. Please remove the nails where you will NOT replace anything, LEAVE the nails where you want pictures to go back up.

Please remove any small breakable or valuable items.

We will move the furniture (beds, dressers, couches) and replace them (after we vacuum behind them).

We will remove and replace switch plates.

Please empty china cabinets and bookshelves that can be moved.

TVs and stereos may need to be unplugged to paint behind or under. You should mark wires as necessary to be able to rewire it later.

It is a good time to clean the blinds or drapes when we take them down.

Exterior
Cut back trees and bushes at least one foot from paintable surfaces.

We will need access to the doors and garage doors to be able to paint the edges.

Look for any rotten wood or damage and have it repaired prior to our arrival.

Pets
Pets seem to like the smell of paint and are curious. They will walk up and smell our buckets, then step on a lid and track paint through the house. They will also brush up against freshly painted walls. Please make arrangements to have any pets safely kept away from the areas being painted.

Afterwards
Paint cures for 14 days. During the first few days the paint film is soft. Wait to hang pictures for a day or two. Don’t put anything on shelves for as long as possible. Spray Endust of Pledge on the shelves to keep items from sticking.
